Total Knee Replacement

After years of knee pain, I finally had a total knee replacement on February 10, 2026 with Dr. Heimroth—and I couldn’t be more grateful for the care I received. Going into surgery, I expected severe pain, so I was incredibly surprised that within just a couple of days, it was already manageable. Dr. Heimroth did an outstanding job. He truly listened to my concerns, answered every question, and even took the time to personally call me himself. That simple gesture made me feel genuinely cared for and never just like another patient. Two weeks later, I began outpatient physical therapy, where I had the pleasure of working with Eileen Duswalt-Agostino, Richard Viskewich, and their wonderful support staff. From the very beginning, Eileen and Rich were encouraging, knowledgeable, and fully invested in my recovery. The exercises they tailored for me helped me steadily rebuild strength and confidence. I attended PT three times a week at first, then twice weekly toward the end—and the progress has been incredible. Today, I have my full range of motion back, and feeling is gradually returning. While recovery is still a journey, the chronic pain I lived with for so long is gone, and my knee continues to get stronger every day. I’m so thankful to Dr. Heimroth, Eileen, Rich, and the entire team at Bohemia PT for their exceptional care and support throughout this process.
